Dear Friend,
If you’re a fan of the Super Bowl XLIV Champions, you may be familiar with my work on the field. I’m Zach Strief, #64, Offensive Tackle for the New Orleans Saints. Since my NFL draft in 2006, I have had the unique opportunity to give back to the great city of New Orleans through The Zach Strief Dream Big Foundation.
Big dreamers like me know that the youth of our city are the future of our continued recovery and growth. Through support from my wife, Mandy, my family and generous donors like you, The Zach Strief Dream Big Foundation has enriched the lives of children throughout New Orleans through fundraising, mentoring and volunteering for those who need us most.
Café Reconcile is a non-profit restaurant and organization in Central City that provides culinary and life skills training for youth from at-risk communities eager to enter the hospitality and entertainment industry in New Orleans. The Zach Strief Dream Big Foundation has partnered with Café Reconcile and other worthy children’s organizations in our second annual “BIG NIGHT OUT” benefit.
Last year over 1,000 dreamers attended the “BIG NIGHT OUT” benefit – including over 25 of my Saints teammates – raising $107,000 in charitable dollars. The success of last year’s benefit afforded Café Reconcile $75,000 in donations for their training programs. The remaining donated dollars went to other valued area children’s organizations.
With your philanthropic event sponsorship, silent auction donation or attendance at the benefit, we’ll continue to make 2010 a championship year for all Saints fans and big dreamers.
Be a part of our dream:

Please review our Sponsorship information and Silent Auction Donation Form, and become a BIG part of my dream for a better New Orleans. Make a tax-deductible contribution that directly benefits the deserving students of Café Reconcile and at-risk children in New Orleans.

BIG NIGHT OUT 2010
Sometimes the off season is crazier than the season! We’ve been away from the blog for so long…. here’s what we’ve been up to!
Well, of course you know we finished the season as WORLD CHAMPIONS! We’ve blogged about this before… had to throw it in again!

After the SUPERBOWL PARADE, it was time to wrap it up and wait for THE RING…
Then, Mardi Gras began! We had a fantastic time riding in Bacchus! Thanks to Drew and Brittany for including us in such an amazing night!

Next was The Orpheus Ball with some of our best friends! We have to post a few here… it was just SO MUCH FUN! Shout out to our insanely talented friends Beebe and Corine Tran of Studio Tran for these (and many more) amazing shots!

Mardi Gras 2010–super fun! One for the books. We cannot wait until next year! It just might feel wrong to have Mardi Gras without a Superbowl Parade from now on! Dream big, right?!
We embarked on a trip of a lifetime! Three weeks in Europe! Barcelona, Paris, the champagne region, Florence, Venice, Rome….ahhh…..
Click here to read about our travels. Note: it’s not censored ![]()

We attended a fundraiser at Rock N Bowl for the Bayou District Foundation. Our NOLA family rocked our best 50’s gear! Maw Maw, Megan, Zach and MaSal should have taken home the championship….maybe next year. They sure did look good, though! Photos coming soon. Click here to see how you can support The Bayou District Foundation!
We wished Mama (Strief) a very Happy Birthday!

Our nephew Christopher (Little Man) celebrated his first birthday. We looked like that after the cake, too ![]()

We celebrated Easter with the family and our very first anniversary!

Zach hosted a dinner for 64 at Cafe Reconcile with an amazing group of people! Click here to read all about it!
Mandy and her business partner Melissa launched a new business, MaeMe! Click here to check them out! Bridal accessories, jewelry, gifts, Saints accessories……they say: BLING. BRIDAL. BLISS!

I went on a golf trip with my Dad to The Ross Bridge Resort in Birmingham. Nice to spend some time with The Big Guy…
While I was there, Mandy attended our dear friends Kelly and Elizabeth Gibson’s Night of Jazz event for their foundation Feed the Relief. Click here to check out Feed the Relief.
Our niece Aubrey became a tee ball star and a showstopper!

Zach and his team dominated The Allfax Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament….. no comment on the wardrobe!
Mandy volunteered at the “betting hole.” She and Mrs. Martinez seriously collected for the kids!
We were honored, once again, to attend the JPRD Spring Prom! It is sincerely one of our most favorite evenings of every year! We can’t wait to go back next year! Our hearts leave filled with joy!

We went to VEGAS with some of our best friends!

We celebrated our Moms, Sally and Cathy, on Mother’s Day! Zach surprised his Mom in Cincy!

Our goddaughter Lindsay graduated from high school! Watch out Southeastern…. here she comes!

We welcomed a new addition to our family, Addison Paige. Proud parents Rachel and Jared Fousch!

Zach was the Master of Ceremonies for The Louisiana Special Olympics!

We wished our beautiful sister Heather a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Zach was a celebrity watier at Irene’s! Thanks to Ali and Mark for purchasing this amazing package at Big Night Out 2009!

We had an amazing time with New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Company and The Miller Family at The Ultimate Tailgate party at Ms. Joy Miller’s home! They purchased this package at Big Night Out 2009, as well! Check out Ms. Joy in her “I LOVE BOYS IN BLACK AND GOLD” shirt! Thank you for your hospitality!

We took a last minute vacation to Puerto Rico… it rained the ENTIRE TIME! Photos to come….
… and then there was Mini Camp! (It was hot then!)
We had a little fun at Corks N Canvas on Magazine with our friends! Mandy drank the paint water…surprise, surprise! Zach didn’t paint… just critiqued Mandy’s masterpiece!

We wished Mandy, Jayda and Aubrey HAPPY BIRTHDAYS!!

We wished our Dads a Happy Father’s Day!

Zach hosted his annual Dream Big Football Camp in Milford! So fun!

Back in NOLA, Zach was a celebrity bartender for artist Tuna’s unveiling of “Coastal Paradise.” All proceeds support The Save Our Coast Program. Special thanks to our friends at Coastal Shoring!
We wished Mom (Schexnaydre) a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

FInally, we wrapped up our summer with a family vacation to our beautiful Gulf Coast!

Mandy here! I’m just so proud of my husband today! Click here to check him out cooking with The White House Chef! Our Louisiana shrimp is safe and delicious! He cooked Shrimp and Andouille Skewers from The Foundation cookbook, “When you’re the Biggest Guy on the Team!” We’re re-launching it this fall! Subscribe to our blog, so you’ll be the first to know when you can get your hands on a copy! (Look up and to the right…. click subscribe, then enter your email address!)
Zach looks right at home at The White House! Way to make NOLA proud, boys! We are beaming today!
We can’t thank all of you enough for supporting Dream Big!! We are able to give because of generous people like you! In that spirit of giving, I’d like to invite you to join me in supporting a very special group The Greater New Orleans Entertainment Foundation. The GNOEF raises funds to provide musical instruments for deserving students. What better way to preserve the talent and culture that makes New Orleans so unique.
This Saturday night, July 31, they are putting on their second annual charity event NOLA ROCKS! 7pm. Generations Hall, 310 Andrew Higgins Drive NOLA. The event will feature performances by Bag of Donuts, The Molly Ringwalds, Kermit Ruffins (yep, you’ve seen him on Treme and The Real World), 5Finger Discount, Kyle Turley, Fleur de Lis, Al “Carnival Time” Johnson, The Mystics, Hott Tickett, Naydja Cojoe, Cyril Neville, Charmaine Neville, Jeremy Davenport and so many more! How’s that for a line up?! All this talent under one roof!
The event will also feature a live and silent auction. They’ll be auctioning off some amazing packages–Superbowl tickets (who’s ready for a repeat!?), Kentucky Derby packages, tickets to The Grammys and more! Our friends at New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Company will be selling food (yummm).
Tickets are only $25–that’s a steal! They can be purchased HERE! VIP packages are available, as well! All proceeds benefit children aspiring to be musicians!!
Mandy has been working so hard on this event. Please support her, The Greater New Orleans Entertainment Foundation and all the children that will benefit from this amazing cause. I wish I could be there to join you, but I’ll be at training camp. However, if you know my wife and her friends—and I know you’ve heard of these entertainers… it’s sure to be a great time! There’s only one place to be this Saturday night, July 31… that’s NOLA ROCKS at Generations Hall! Get your tickets now!
Dreaming big,
ZACH

We will be taking a short break from all things foundation. We have really appreciated the outpouring of support we have receive both this season and post…WORLD CHAMPS. We will return to work on March 20th. We will talk to you all again then. While we’re out you can continue to work hard, play passionately, love NOLA, DREAM BIG!!
I mean winning the Super Bowl was one of the greatest nights of my life. Who would have thought it would be equaled just days later. I hope you all had half as much fun as we did on the float because we had the best time ever. It was my favorite night ever in New Orleans. It really just cemented all of you as the greatest fans in pro sports. No other NFL team in history has ever had a celebration like that one. I know to a man, every guy on this team could not thank everyone enough for being behind us like you were. We can’t wait to do it again next year. THANK YOU
